I can receive messages for my I-phone 4S, but unable to send e-mails. Can anyone help?

what happens when you try to send? does it give you any error messages?

I get a message saying Cannot send mail The connection to the outgoing server failed.

if this worked in the past it might mean the email provider changed settings on you. The easiest way to fix the problem would be to delete the email account from the phone and re-add it. the only thing is i'm not sure of is if it will bring back the emails that are currently on the phone.
