Hi there,
I am the system administrator for our BES server (version 3.6.3.8) in Singapore. I have an existing BES user who will be traveling to/staying in Atlanta frequently.
We are exploring if it is possible for him to sign up for a voice + Blackberry data plan with AT&T and change to the AT&T SIM card whenever he is in Atlanta. And still receive (from our Singapore BES server) his work emails, calendar & address book on his Blackberry device (Blackberry 8707G). With this arrangement, he would not need to pay for the International data roaming charges to his Singapore provider.
Most probably be recommending:
Nation unlimited cell phone plan ($69.99) + BlackBerry Personal Bundle ($50)
Kindly advice if this is workable.
Thanks in advance.

Blackberry Personal will not connect to a BES server. You will need a Blackberry Enterprise plan.

Hi dsteinert,
Noted and thanks! But I am not able to find any info on Blackberry Enterprise Server data plan on AT&T websites.
I am not staying in USA and am not existing customer of AT&T so I am not able to login for technical live chat.
I need the customer service contact number or email address or URL for Blackberry Enterprise Server data plan. Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance.

BES allows you bb to communicate directly with your company's email server giving it access to your emails (of course) your work calandar, tasks and notes.
With BES, all of these things wirelessly syncronize with the server and allows you all of the contacts on the server.
With BIS, you get access to your pop email accounts (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc) on your bb and allows you internet capabilities.
Bascially, BES is for a corporate server and BIS is for personal use.
