FRAUDULENT HARD INQUIRY

Hi, Everyone

Just within the last few months I noticed that I had (2) AT&T Hard Inquiries pop up on a couple of my credit reports, which one is almost 2 years old and the other approximately one year old. Which seems strange in itself that they are 1 and 2 years old and only show up 3 months ago.

I am single and live alone. I have a phone that is over 6 years old and has been out of contract for atleast 4 years.  I don't have a home phone, I don't have internet, and I don't have cable tv or any type of Dish tv. So I have know idea where these hard inquiries would have come from.

They show up on my credit report as follows;

1) AT&T Services   Telephone Company

Inquiry from DEC 2016- Est date of Removal Jan2019

2) AT&T Services   Telephone Company

Inquiry from Nov 2018- Est date of Removal Dec 2018

I have no knowledge of even doing business with AT&T. But, I can say for certain I have never authorized them to do a Hard Inquiry on my Credit Reports.

So  I thought I’d just call AT&T and get this cleared up. I just got off the.phone them after being on there for 2 hours. I got transferred to 4 different people, which every single one said that they really weren’t the person I needed to talk to.

They asked me all my information and I’m no wherever to be found in there system. So the bottom line is after 2 hours and 4 different people they told me that’s they could not do anything about it what do ever.

They said my only recourse is to contact every single credit bureau in writing and make a dispute on the Hsrd Inquiries. Then once I get that paper work back that I could then contact AT&T back and send them the information and then they would evaluate it and if they decided that it was fraudulent that I would then have to fill out some paper work and only then would they contact all the credit bureaus and have them removed.

DO you realized hi long that would take.

So i ask them.. “ I said if you don’t have any information about me at all in any of your computers the how could you prove that I ever asked for AT&T credit even if I did which I didn’t. You have no proof what so ever that those Hard inquiries are legitimate if I’m not even in your system. I said  so why not contact the credit bureaus and tell them to delete them because you have no documentation that I ever asked for AT&T credit.”  And the guy says that’s just our policy , you have to contact the credit bureaus yourself and then give us the information before we can proceed.  Even though my name or any of my information is no where to be found within the AT$T computer system.

Needles to to say I was irate after spending 2 hours on the phone and being transfered 4 times to not get a single answer from anyone at AT&T customer service.

This is criminal what this company is doing.

I would like this investigated immediately by AT&T and want it removed from all of the credit reporting agencies.

It shoukd not be my responsibility contact every single credit bureau for AT&T when they already told me I’m not in their system any where.  They should just contact the credit agencies and tell them to remove them.  Instead they want me to spend the nextv6 months gathering their information for them, then handing it over to them in the hopes that it meets their requirements for the removal of (2) fraudulent Hard Inquiries.

On a side note, these AT&T Hard Inquiries that are showing up on peoples credit reports "Fraudulently" has happened to 2 of my friends as well as my parents.

So it appears that this is a company wide systemic problem and not just some innocent mistakes here and there.

Those to 2 AT&T "Hard Inquiries" dropped my credit score by 32 points on one report an 40 on another and kept me from getting the care loan that I desperately needed.

This kind of Corporate behavior needs to stop immediately.

I  also got on the internet to figure out how to go about getting these AT&T Hard Inquires Removed and where to go and I was overwhelmed with page after page and multiple forums just dedicated to getting rid of AT&T's fraudulent Hard Inquiries that you are apparently putting on thousands of peoples credit reports.

I want this investigated immediately and I want it completely removed from all my reports, not just closed, I want them removed as if they never existed.

if I don’t get this resolved to my satisfaction, my next stop is the States Attorneys Office and The Better Bureaus Office and I will be filling formal complaints.

I am so tired of you large morally bankrupt corporations behaving in what can only be described as criminal behavior, because most of the time nothing happens or you get a slap on the wrist.

In this day and age peoples livelihood revolves around Credit and being able to purchase things and your company in particular are denying good hard working americans the ability to have a great quality of life because you are fraudulently and purposely destroying their credit in the hopes of strong arming them into paying you some fee that is not even owed to you.

I wonder if they know what these words mean because I know a judge does.... Fraud. Wire Fraud, Racketeering, Theft, Conspiracy to (to commit all of these Illegal acts). Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, just to name a few.

Same thing happened to me last year and again this year and I do not have any account with AT&T but what I did use was TurboTax which is an Intuit product. By any chance were you using TurboTax are QuickBooks or any of their products when this happened?

Did you ever get this resolved? Same thing is happening to me now and I can't get AT&T to remove the clearly fraudulent inquiry.

Not finding what you're looking for?
