Why is my yahoo mail being redirected to att.com?
My yahoo account was hacked. I can't do the 'forgot password routine at yahoo because it redirects to ATT, where ATT says my yahoo email address can't be helped because it is a yahoo account and not an AT&T account.
How can I drop this redirect? We have no AT&T services and this yahoo account was never associated with any AT&T service

For real? I’m not really up for getting through these instructions. Can a computer co. set this up for a fee? I’m fed up with this login trip with Yahoo & AT&T!

I had to figure this out for my parents because they're old and not used to the mental gymnastics of "networking".
This is how you fix this mess that yahoo and att have happily created for you, yet both don't seem to care much in solving (serving customers in 2019 are you kidding me??);
*For extra sprinkles of sanity, use a different browser than you have been for this, also in incognito mode since you're already making the effort, although it's probably not necessary.
If you're smart you'll drop these jokes of a company and go with something else, or just go outside where the nature of wild is far less maddening than the nature of man.

A relative of mine of now having this issue with his old @sbcglobal.net account. For years now he has been able to sign-in on yahoo using this email address and access his email via yahoo mail. Now, when we enter the email address and click "Next" (on yahoo.com) the browser redirects to an att.net login page. Entering the email address and password there results in errors that the user cannot be found, and eventually a message saying that the user is locked out.

What's annoying to me is that the same problem just started for me about a month or so ago and it's 2/25/2020 now. Mail from my yahoo account just starting coming into my att.net account. It had not done that ever. I no longer have an att.com account, but I use my att.net email account as my personal account and the yahoo account as my business account and I don't like when the yahoo mail arrives in att.net account.
So, long story short, since the emails are going to the correct account and also the incorrect att.net account, I just set up a Thunderbird message filter (which is where I generally get my att.net email and I redirect any email from my yahoo address into the trash. At least that way I don't inadvertantly read and respond to a work email from my personal account. I need to see if there's a way to do this filtering directly in att.com email or samsung email so that I can also keep it from happening there.

If you're like me, my email account ends in "@yahoo.com" and the re-direct to AT&T was a pain because it was expecting me have an ATT legacy account like att.net or sbcglobal.net.
Problem solved: On the yahoo.com site, I clicked on the "mail" link on the LEFT-HAND side of the page and it then finally allowed me to sign in with my @yahoo.com email address and password.
Otherwise, I was only able to get my @yahoo.com email via my iPhone and I prefer the larger screen of my computer.

Try resetting the password to your yahoo email and maybe that will work because some times I have to do it with my Gmail email account let me know if that works if not you might have to call AT&T
