Disable logging to Diagnostics.txt

by petar_b » Mon May 10, 2010 11:12 am

I am trying to reduce disk writting due to extreme server load.

Is it possible to stop logging to C:\Program Files (x86)\AT&T Network Client\Diagnostics.txt of NetCfgSrv.exe ? Using NetClient (7.6.3.3012).

Thanks !
Petar

Diagnostics.txt is only written when using a cellular data device. Even when it is, the file is not particularly large; the file on my workstation right now is less than 45K and I connect cellular pretty regularly. I do not think disabling logging to this file will make a significant impact on the server.

If you do want to disable the logging to this file, and if you do not need the cellular support, you can go into the Preferences in the client and permanently disable cellular support.

Thanks for your reply. I don't have a cellular card in TP. HOwever, log is bit irritating,it insert few entries every 10 secs, and it's always same message....

[0000128c] 13:35:36.581 WAN FSM : ACTION_NO_CARD_DETECTED
[0000128c] 13:35:46.583 WAN FSM : ACTION_CHECK_IS_MODEM_INSERTED
[0000128c] 13:35:46.583 WAN FSM : IsModemInserted
[0000128c] 13:35:46.583 WAN FSM : ACTION_NO_CARD_DETECTED
[0000128c] 13:35:56.596 WAN FSM : ACTION_CHECK_IS_MODEM_INSERTED
[0000128c] 13:35:56.596 WAN FSM : IsModemInserted
[0000128c] 13:35:56.596 WAN FSM : ACTION_NO_CARD_DETECTED

I'd like to get rid of this. I can't find feature to disable cellular support... any other ideas maybe ?

You can use the "Permanently disable cellular device support" option on the Preferences tab in the Login Properties.
