Version 8.5 Available

Version 8.5 of the AT&T Global Network Client for Remote Access is available. Click here for download.


Enhancements included in Version 8.5 include:

  • Add ability to update lightweight policy enforcement components independently of client upgrades
  • Add ability to upgrade cellular device drivers (and SDK) independently of client upgrades
  • Support for roaming restricted Wi-Fi locations
  • For Verizon and Sprint CDMA connections use the RAS interface for establishing the cellular connection
  • Add ability to access Program License Agreement after installation
  • Correct issue with data usage counters
  • Update command line parameter for password
  • Integrate Smith Micro WWAN SDK version 3.1205.00.0

In addition, AT&T now offers more than 131,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across 79 countries that are available to Remote Access Users (BIS, AVTS and ANIRA) who utilize the AT&T Global Network Client.  The total footprint is comprised of both AT&T Wi-Fi branded locations plus many other roaming locations across the world.

  End of Support

As described in the AT&T Global Network Client Product Lifecycle Policy, the following releases are reaching or have reached the End of Support. See the Product Support Matrix for the complete list of support dates for the AT&T Global Network Client.

Release End of Support 7.1.1 Oct 2010 7.2 Jan 2011 7.2.1 Feb 2011

After this date, the helpdesk will continue to assist Customers with connectivity related issues, but will no longer support issues that relate to the Client software. Customers may continue to use version 7.1 and 7.1.1, but AT&T recommends that they upgrade to version 8.3 (or later) to obtain the latest Client features. This will enable the AT&T helpdesk to assist Customers and Users identify and resolve connectivity problems related to the Client software.
