Re: Smartphones and Wi-Fi

Hi guys,

I was thinking to upgrade an existing device and I have a Premier account, there is a list of smart pones, some require 2 years contract and some are not.

The one that I like doesn’t have 2 years contract and allows me to buy it for 199$, however it shows data plan as an optional.

Since I don’t need it, I will not add any data plan, however reading your topic makes me wondering how AT&T allows that

:mansurprised:

Any thoughts?

Any device being offered at a discount requires a two-year contract.  This could just be a bug in the Premier web site.  Also, ANY smartphone now requires a data plan.  There are no exceptions to this rule.

I have the Samsung Solstice and all I have on my account is the messaging feature since I don’t really like to browse on such a small screen. Some smartphones are considered “Quick Messaging Phones” and those don’t need data plans.
