Teleport Communications and AT&T

I am trying to find the owner of a Phone number I've been told by an AT&T customer service that it is owned by Teleport Communications. A google search states that Teleport communications is a subsidiary Of AT&T but she didn't know that. I'm looking for support for Teleport Communications/AT&T a phone number or email  or something?

i also got the same run around by AT&T.  It's horrible, horrible customer service.  They kept putting me on hold, transferring me to different departments.  It took 30 mins before someone told me that I needed to contact "TELEPORT COMMUNICATIONS."  They didn't even have a phone number for me to contact.

I will never use AT&T again.

@cancelnow2 I feel your pain. I got rid of their cell service due to the insane rates they charge. I got rid of their cable and they insisted I never returned the equipment. I had my (Edited per community guidelines) contact them and magically my equipment appeared. I switched over to Uverse and decided I was tired of the over-billing and cancelled with them and went to Spectrum. Spectrum's install tech talked to AT&T on the phone to get the number switched to them for my landline and internet. Then 3 months later AT&T said I never cancelled with them and says that I owe the $867. To which I replied "I (Edited per community guidelines) sure did cancel with you and so did my Spectrum tech when we got the number switched to them", but not only that, but if I had never switched and went 1 month without paying they would have interrupted my service and quit billing me. So are they suggesting that this time I could have went 3 months in a row without paying them and no interruption of service? Yeah AT&T are Scheisters of the tallest order...They are Con-men, swindlers, pickpockets and petty crooks. I will never use them again...In fact I am making it my life's mission to sway people away from them. And when my (Edited per community guidelines) gets a hold of them we are going to be in court. They've already been fined $60 Million dollars for data throttling, and in 2015 they were hit with $100 million for similar deceptive practices. This is not a company you want to refer loved ones to. Right now they are giving my business the run around with the exact same Teleport Comm line rubbish. You can't find them and our phone line woes continue. My advice, just get rid of them and wash your hands of their bad business practices.

@Constructive I saw that number too. It's no good. Typical AT&T passing the buck to an untraceable ghost.

For everyone's general reference: 'Teleport Communications' is the name AT&T gave their CLEC (Competitve Local Exchange Carrier) component. All numbers on an AT&T IP-based (VoIP) service, such as IP Flex (aka "IP Flexible Reach") live on the Teleport Communications SPID. The BVOIP (Business VoIP) support number is (Phone number hidden) -- [FAIR WARNING: often very long hold-times, so put them on speaker, and do other tasks while you wait.]

That said, AT&T cannot (read: will not) provide you with any information about the number or the account without a valid LOA (Letter of Agency or Letter of Authorization) from the end-customer; however, they can (and probably will) put you in contact with the end-customer's AT&T Account Manager.

Side-note: you may have tried this already, but just in case, try -- whitepages dot com -- for a reverse phone number lookup.

I received a call from562-968-7843 that had caller ID as Nickolas Medina and he tried to sell me prostitution services.  I asked how he even know where I was and he told he they have workers all over the country.  You guys need to see if its true and how many lines and prostitution calls he makes to actively try to bring customers in for (Edited per community guidelines).  I immediately told my wife what happened and she was very upset and said I must have used their services before and was on some kind of personal call list.  I have never in my life been to a (Edited per community guidelines) and to have a brazen call come in offering me an illegal offer has really shaken me up.  Please investigate this number, it must have been a fake name, right?

I am experiencing the same problem, and the phone number listed is an "unallocated" Teleport Communications VOIP. AT&T said the number did not belong to them. Has anyone had any luck getting in touch with Teleport Communications or otherwise getting such a number released back for use?

I am looking for help with numbers that are listed at Teleport Communications. We are looking for our account numbers and service address associated with them. Can anyone help?

@Iburnham --TCG (Teleport Communications Group) is AT&T's CLEC - The phone numbers are probably on ATT BVOIP (Business Voice over IP), aka IP Flex, or a derivative of the IP Flex product set. The account # and service address should be your IP Flex bill. The numbers are not shown on the bill. If it's a bundle such as FBB (Fiber Broadband Bundle), or ADIVB (ATT Dedicated Internet Value Bundle) the account number is probably 171-xxx-xxxx-001 or similar. If the IP Flex service was originally a stand-alone (non-bundled) contract, there will be 2 separate accounts, one for the MIS or ADI (dedicated internet) circuit, and one for BVOIP - these account numbers are typically formatted as 831-00X-XXXX-XXX.

@rhammond Do you happen to know a contact number for them? We have contacted ATT and they do not have any information for the TN's we give them nor can they find an account off the business name we give them. We are at a lose here.

@Iburnham - Just FYI, although the name & brand is ATT, their IP Flex (BVOIP) organization is sort of compartmentalized separately. Essentially operating as a different company. This link has IP Flex support numbers that should help get you to the correct people https://www.corp.att.com/bvoip/ipflex/support/  -- additionally, you can open an Information Request ticket in ExpressTicketing using any of one the phone numbers in question as the "asset"  for validation https://expressticketing.acss.att.com/

I have this same problem.  We have a block of phone numbers that show as Teleport Communications.  I saw links in this forum, but they either go nowhere are require an asset ID to create a ticket.  How do I get support ?
