Can we recreate the old White pages and Yellow pages, and publish it on the internet?

I believe this idea would be in the best interest of the communcations corporations and the American public...
Why does'nt someone in corporate America develope a system where telephone numbers, last names and first, and their associated home address similar to the White pages; the people who want this will give and volunteer this information to make it published publicly; available on the internet. Bussinesses and phone corporations should be apart of it... This would be similar to the White pages and the Yellow pages of old... This has disappeared in North America and Canada; people miss it... The cost for running the company would be derived from the cost the companies paying for the running of ads in the on-line yellow pages.. If more money is needed to run the company; people would pay a small amount per year for listing their numbers in the white pages...
