Call terminations and voicemail

Hi,

A couple of questions if I may regarding voicemail on the AT&T celluar network?

• Can we have smartphones with voicemail completely disabled? By complete I mean any incoming call rings indefinitely? No voicemail of any kind at any time. Even if the phone is off.
• If so what handsets?
• How is call termination handled by AT&T wireless?

martins267,

You can remove the voicemail feature from any service, including smartphones. The calls would ring a predetermined number of times (30 seconds maximum, not indefinitely) and then will terminate to an AT&T system message advising the caller, that the person you called does not have voicemal set up. If the phone is off the call would immediately terminate to that same message.

As for your last question, "How is call termination handled by AT&T wireless?", could you please clarify what you mean?

Thanks.
