  • Hi Bud**,

I'm sorry to read about the trouble with the phone. I can understand how frustrating and an inconvenience this has been. I'll be more than happy to take a look at this for you. Please send me a private message by clicking here and be sure to include your contact # and email so I can follow up.

    Talk with you soon,

Why can't I buy a small part for a phone that is still being sold?

There is a small plastic part for the TR 1909 Trimline called the Handset Cradle Tab.  It's purpose is to provide a hook for the handset when it is in a vertical wall-mounted position.  This part tends to break easily, making a wall-mount impossible.  When I try to purchase some of these, the company's response is "We still offer the TR1909 White. However, we no longer offer the spare parts for the said telephone system."

Now you know that somewhere in China there's a bin full of hundreds of these little parts.  I can see why they might not want to be bothered with requests for a cheap part, but don't they have a moral obligation to continue providing this part which might cost them less than $1 per incident for part cost, handling, and shipping?  Is it really going to affect their bottom line?

Okay Murial, so how can you help me solve my problem ??

1.  Again my 2nd AT&T phone broke due to a small part worth about 5 cents or less and won't stay hung up on the wall.

2.  I ended up buying a replcement phone from AT&T for $20 which came with a 'free' calling card which I probably won't use since I have unlimited nationwide calling from another carrier.

3.  I have been unable to find a handset cradle tab.  I would think that anyone with a 3D printer should be abple to make a lot of money selling these.  It is a small part called a "Handset Cradle Tab"   There is a picture of the broken piece on the left of the top picture and how it should look on the right.

The bottom picture shows the tab installed on the phone base and next to the base on the right is the phone.  When the phone is hung up the handset cradle tab keeps the switch hoo depressed.

Please respond with more than a URL for me to click on which as far as I can tell, doesn't provide any information.  Much thanks for you efforts on this.
