AT&T Messages Log-In Failure

Trying to use At&t messages on Samsung Tablet S4. The messages app should be in sync with my mobile phone. I am able to log into My ATT app on tablet with my credentials and number-sync is currently working (tablet rings when cellphone is called & I can make outgoing calls). When I trying to open AT&T Messages it asks for user ID and password, when I enter it tells me to dial 611 and offers the error: devide token does not exist. There is no error code. I have spoken with ATT tech support for two hours and they dumped me to Samsung support for 30mins. I have tried:

WiFi, Bluetooth, roaming off

Uninstall and reinstall att messages

Samsung had me clear messages app cache and reset network settings on the tablet. I've called ATT tech support back and I've now completed my third hour trying to sort this out.

Hello @tomitochacha,

Thank you for reaching out on the Business Community.  The Samsung Tablet S4 is not compatible with the ATT Messages.

You mean it no longer is compatible? Because it was working months ago... fall into winter 2019.

Hi Chris,

Are we talking about the same thing? The link you forwarded http://sm.att.com/1097f624 has a compatible device list. My cellphone is listed as a compatible device. I get calls and can make calls via number sync to/from my tablet S4. I formerly was capable of texting via ATT Messages. Unfortunately for me, and it appears anyone else with a tablet - the app for tablets doesn't work. I just clicked through the link you sent clicking all the way to the ATT messages app for tablets. The app reviews are a long, long, long, list of people saying it doesn't work.... all kinds of tablet makes and models - does not work. You should really explain that to your tech support personnel that read off a list of possible solutions. I've spent 4hrs on the phone with tech support and most of them had no understanding of the app, the app name, or what the app does, their only capability or understanding was to read from the solutions list. I appreciate their hard work as they really tried to help me. It is unfortunate however that ATT as a company has such little respect for customers, their employees, and is also slip shod in it's abilities to deliver services... all while charging first rate prices for that matter. I will give up now as your former answer seems to be most accurate. Incompatible... aka doesn't work... that's not what I paid for when I bought the tablet, incompatability within a year. Incidentally I've had this ATT account and since 1996 and it's not likely I change carriers. This is just typical for a company like ATT that has no need for accountability and it's just plain disappointing and there's no real alternative. Carry on.

Hello @tomitochacha

When I check the "See AT&T Messages Backup & Sync-capable devices" link.  I do not see the Tablet S4 device listed as both devices would need to be on the list for it to work.  When was the last time it worked?  Is this on a personal or business account account?
