Charge for Deregulated Wiring

Charged for Deregulated Wiring for work that was not done.

New Small Business Account started on 09/16/2011.

Had ordered new jack install so we can have a phone jack at the front  of the retail shop.(for credit card machine)

But when the install tech arrived, he said he had no such work order.

So I called our account rep to put it on the account for $89.25.

However the install tech said, it'll cost more than $100. So I told him I no longer wanted it. (can use IP credit card machine)

E-mailed account rep to remove the request for new jack because of  new higher price.

The install tech told me there was a jack near the back, he asked me if I wanted to use it.

It was a jack that was already there and was used previously by the last tenant, so I said sure.

Now they are billing me for that installation when it was not a new jack or install, was probably already punched in at the demark anyway, just leading the wires between demarks does not cost $118.50. If we do not have that jack ,how were we suppose to use the phone service anyway, hook up a wire to the demark? So I called my account rep today 10/21/2011, and he called the install tech, and since the install tech "turned that jack HOT" he says needs to charge me.

The account rep agreed with me and took off $29.25 from the bill , but they still charge me the $89.25, but I don't think  I should be charged for a new jack install, if I wanted to pay for it, I would've requested a jack installed to the front like I wanted to in the first place and not use the jack that was already there at the back of the shop.

I have called CS billing department, but they instead transfered me to repair services, and they in turn transfered me back to CS, and I've waited for the call back service which never came.

I even called AT&T rewards to register for my $100 rebate on the modem and they have no record of my account in their system.

My first bill from AT&T billing date 10/13 that started on 09/22/2011 is for $479.84, there is something wrong with this.

Anyone got any ideas on what I should do?

file complaint with the GA Public Serivce Commission?

complain to the FCC, the telecom union? I dont' know what else I can do.

I have the same issue.

I ordered a Fast DSL online.

Online page said that I can get 50% for the wireless gateway I ordered.

The service guy came to may house without informating any body.

He did work outside of my hose. He activated a phone jack that I do not use.

I found that my phone jack in the basement can not work. I called in.

So, the service came the 2nd time. He left without get thing fixed.

So I called again. He came third third again and finally get it fixed.

But, I also get charged with "Deregulated Wiring".

Also, I did not get 50% discount of the wireless gateway also.

My first bill is above 200. This is really absurd

I just got my first Att bill. I received a big charge for deregulated wiring. The house I am in already had wiring for two separate phone lines however the 3 techs who came to the house said the wiring to the street was cut. So they claimed they had to run a new wire to the street and 3 weeks later someone would come to bury the line. Anyway 3 weeks later a tech came and told me that the old line was not cut and that I never needed a new line. So he connected both lines and Internet to the old wires and took the new line that was not needed away. I find this outrageous that I am being charged for something I never needed!!!

I just moved to an apartment in April of this year. I just looked at my bill not even 5 minutes ago and my heart dropped. My bill was 605 and change. 500+ in deregulated wiring. When I moved here the phone line had no dial tone. He also said he will change the jack cover. The tech figured out the problem (the problem was a simple one to plug in the main line to get the lines in the apartment to work). This is bonkers.

I also just got a bill for almost $500! Including 2 charges for deregulated wiring on a 3rd phone line I only used for 2 weeks to try to imporove my bad internet service, I got a second DSL, which did not help at all. I got charged almost $200 on that 3rd line alone! for 2 weeks of bad service! Unbelievable! Worst company ever. I have been on hold for over an hour, and they are telling me that there is NO SUPERVISOR AVAILABLE. This is a real scam.
