Direct TV/AT&T Damage Claims

A few weeks ago my husband and i bought our first home, which we are so excited about. We figured since we are currently have uverse and pay ($170 for internet and tv=which is outrageous) we would stick with AT&T and switch to directTV since we do not have at&t lines near our new home and the cost is a lot better. Well the Direct TV Technician broke our ceiling during the installation, in our brand new home. After he broke the ceiling, he called me and told me the number to contact, our claim number and said that all we need to do is get a quote and then at&t will cover the cost. I have tried contacting this 1855-365-4967 number and they transferred me because it was the wrong number, then the same thing happened with the new number, and they transferred me again. After being transferred four times this past Friday on May 11th, i gave up and figured i would deal with the problem today but yet I'm getting the same run around. When i finally was able to talk to the someone in the claims department after being transferred ten times, the man tells me that i should have received a letter in the mail and an email (havent received either of those). We live in a small town and spent two weeks trying to find a contractor that would be able to fix this issue, and then when i spoke to the man at at&t, he tells me that at&t usually hires someone and we shouldn't fix anything until it has been inspected by at&t and they will take action. We have scheduled the job for this week since we have to move out of our rental home and this hole in the ceiling is preventing us from moving, but yet here we are stuck with $1,000 repair cost for damage that AT&T made, and i can't get answers from any number i am transferred to. The man that i spoke with gave me another number to contact to figure out how to handle this issue since we have had this job scheduled. I am very hesitant about contacting any other number because i am getting a different answer each time i talk to an at&t person. I even took the liberty to drive to the local AT&T store last week and they had no answers for me and didnt know which number or website to go to. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS and UNACCEPTABLE. When you, AT&T as a provider are responsible for damage, you need to have clear outlines of what a customer needs to do and tell all of your technicians what they need to do instead of transferring your customers 20 different times and having each person give you a different answer. At this point, i am not sure if we will ever get our money from at&t for the damage that they caused.
