Held Hostage to ATT Internet rising rates

First Off I don’t understand why my bill is almost $32.00 dollars per month for AT&T HSI Basic Internet service.  I know in the past ATT has offered me a package with phone and TV digital service.  Only to tell me that it would be cheaper or benefit me to purchase a complete package.  I cannot afford to pay a larger bill, let alone a combined package deal.  I do not have the time or watch much TV and my current phone is a prepaid cell…. Going to a package deal would not benefit me at all.  I spend about $10 to $15 per month and only talk or use my phone for about 200 minutes per month.  I think it is financial blackmail and very unfair to the users who only want and need internet service.  Unfortunately I need internet service to check my emails and apply for jobs on-line, I really do not use my internet much beyond these task.  I don’t want to call because all I hear from your customer service reps is that it would benefit me to use a combined package.  I am in customer service too and I do realize it is they’re job to sell as much as they can to the customers, but I don’t need or want these services and don’t want to keep hearing this over and over again.  I live on a very fixed income and struggle month to month to pay all my necessary monthly bills.  My current job is in danger of layoff and recently I took another pay-cut.  I am going backwards financially and trying to keep up with all the rising cost is a real challenge.  Personally I think that ATT is becoming just a bit over the top stingy and everything I have been reading lately about your company shows you are making substantial profits.  It is unfortunate that us low-income individuals have to pay the price, are held hostage and have no choice but to contribute to your corporate greed and heavy pockets.  You do realize there are several people in this country having a real tough time financially, or have no employment and it would be nice if AT&T could finally understand or realize this too.  You offer $14.00 per month to new customers but yet double this for existing customers.  The longer you are a customer of AT&T the more you are going to pay in the end.  I was a very long time customer and used AT &T phone service for several years in the past when I had a land-line.  Now I am just very disappointed with your rates and have to seriously consider whether I can possibly afford or keep my internet service with AT&T.
